FAQ

Q: Can I use ikman Safe Buy on all ad listings on ikman?

A: No, ikman Safe Buy is only available in verified sellers' ad listings .

Q: Why must I authenticate with facebook?

A: ikman Safe Buy is built to help you make safer transactions on ikman. Hence, the facebook authentication helps us identify both you and the seller.

Q: How do I pay?

A: You pay for the item using your payment card; Visa, Mastercard or American Express. You can only pay in local currency; LKR.

Q: How long does it take to get my item?

A: This varies. Your payment will reach the escrow account quickly, and as soon as it does, we'll notify the seller to ship the item. Usually the seller will be able to ship the item the same day or the day after. The delivery time depends on where you live on the island.

Q: Who manages the delivery of the item?

A: The seller is responsible for managing the delivery using their preferred delivery service.

Q: What does it cost to use the service?

A: The price of the service is currently set to LKR a fixed fee of 1,500. The fee is paid by the buyer and is added on top of the purchase sum.

Q: What about receipts for my purchase?

A: We'll provide you with 2 type of receipts when a purchase has been completed:

  • Transaction receipt: Receipt from the seller on your purchase

  • Service Receipt: Receipt from us on the payment service fee

Q: Why is there a 10 minute timer for payments?

A: To help our sellers keep track of their inventory and to avoid having active payment sessions blocking other buyers from purchasing, we have a 10 minute limit to complete a payment. There's also a 10 minute block after a completed purchase before we open up the ad listing for new purchases.
